Frequently Asked Questions
What experience/licensing do you have?
The license we currently have is the Contractor R101 license with the state of Utah. (#123677-5501). Apart from the license, however, we have many years of experience in a variety of trades.
Do you offer suggestions on remodeling ideas?
Our knowledge is limited when it comes to design elements. Art is very subjective as it is. However, we do partner with an Interior Designer and would love to have her come out and discuss design elements with you.
What’s the time frame for a typical bathroom?
This is a hard question to answer, since there are so many variables, but I would plan on a month of not being able to use the bathroom.
What payment options do you accept/ what’s a payment schedule?
The typical way we get paid is by check. However, it is an antiquated way of getting paid (or so I have been told). We also accept credit/debit card, ACH, and Zelle. For larger projects, we typically do 3 payments of 30%, and then a final payment of 10% upon completion. For smaller projects, we do 50% up front, and 50% upon completion.
Do I buy the materials or do you?
We purchase as much of the material that we can. However, certain items need to be chosen by the homeowner since it is style based. i.e. Tile, shower handle/head, vanity, etc. We have vendors that we work with and trust that we can suggest, and we can try to point the homeowner towards quality brands.
What does a typical bathroom cost?
There are so many variables, it’s hard to pinpoint an amount. A smaller bathroom will run $12-16K. A big master bathroom typically starts at $17K and goes up from there. This includes demo, plumbing in a new shower valve, installing tile backer and shower pan, installing a wall niche, waterproofing shower, tile, grout, installing fixtures, vanity, toilet, and paint.
How big of a mess should I anticipate?
We try our best to keep the dust down and not make a mess. If we are walking through your house, we lay down protection so we don’t mess up your floors/carpet. We run an air scrubber with HEPA filters to keep the dust down and use shop vacs with HEPA filters and bags. We will mask off doorways with plastic to keep dust contained and we do everything in our power to not interrupt the rest of your house. However, construction is messy, and we can’t contain everything 100%. We are currently working on partnering with professional house cleaners to come in after the work is finished to deep clean everything.
